We know that learning is easier when you have an excellent teacher. Reading Ready DMV educators have advanced degrees in their field and a wealth of experience in foundational literacy and mathmatics instruction for elementary and middle school students. 

We are dedicated to continuing professional development informed by current research in the field and beyond.

In the midst of the pandemic, Jenelle and Claire, both successful independent tutors, found common ground at a professional development course in DC Public Schools. Their shared passion for evidence-based teaching practices led them to collaborate on a new initiative, Reading Ready DMV, to address the growing need for personalized literacy support as students struggled with remote learning.  

Recognizing the challenges students faced, they developed individualized literacy supports rooted in the science of reading, creating engaging experiences that helped students regain their confidence and love for learning. Their innovative approach quickly gained traction, leading to an influx of families seeking their services.  

Nearly five years later, Reading Ready DMV has continued to expand its offerings, now providing literacy support for PreK-8, school-based consulting, and family partnerships. Their recent initiative, Reading Ready DMV Plus (RR DMV+), has introduced targeted math instruction, further broadening their impact. With flexible virtual scheduling and a growing team of expert practitioners, RR DMV has extended its reach beyond the DC Metropolitan area, continuing to redefine individualized instruction for diverse learners.
